Boonville Tennis Blanks Carrollton

Good win. We have a good competitive relationship with Carrollton. Their players are fun and friendly which just makes for a better match all the way around. Our girls looked pretty solid, although there were moments when we certainly had to step back and assess our play. N. Twenter was up 7-0 and gave up 2 games, then won 2 and gave up 3 more, but she was patient and finally pulled through on some strong points. Shipman struggled a little at first against the slice play and the power of Calvert, but stayed in the lead. Our doubles is looking better all of the time and our singles were much more on track than they were against Hannibal. With Carrollton having 9 players we couldn’t get all of our girls onto the courts, but the girls understand we still must be a team and they al know their time will come. We have a great support base and team chemistry this year. It makes winning sweeter and the losses become learning tools.
