The fourth home football game had a sold out crowd, but the numbers bring some problems for police.

The first major problem with today's tailgate started hours before the game, anyone driving by Faurot Field could see for themselves that a crowd of 70 thousand caused some traffic problems.

Police say the number one thing they deal with every game is parking.

They make sure fans can get in and out quick and safely.

Captain Weimer with the MU Police Department says after each game police meet to discuss what worked and what didn't.

This home game, they made changes to better control parking and have tailgating start a little later.

Public parking lots opened at noon instead of 10.

Police felt this allowed people into spaces easier and allowed for more spaces not to be blocked by larger tailgates.

However some fans felt differently saying it caused more frustration when cars were backed up on Providence waiting until noon to get in.

Fans say some lots filled up within thirty minutes, making sure they got an early start.

But while checking out the tailgates you could see traffic wasn't the only concern.

Police say too much drinking and underage drinking is another issue.

One police office told us Reactor Filed can be a hotspot for problems.

Police say they typically see between one and fifteen arrests any game day.
