Two cars were involved in a rollover accident on southbound Highway 63 near the Stadium exit just after 4:00 Friday morning. Columbia Police say one car struck the other from behind: the first car went off the road and overturned, while the other hit a fence.
Both drivers went to the hospital. The driver of the first car, 28-year-old Konrad Monie, received minor injuries and has been released from the hospital. The second driver, 38-year-old Martha Knuppel of Cairo, Missouri, is in fair condition at the hospital.
Police say they suspect Monie was drunk at the time of the crash, but have made no arrests nor issued any summons. The accident is still under investigation.
