Boone County Sheriff's deputies arrested a Columbia man Tuesday night after they say they found marijuana in his car.

A deputy patrolling the Georgetown subdivision off Scott Boulevard says he saw a vehicle that he had pulled over a week earlier for improper registration, and that vehicle was still displaying the same registration. The deputy says he knew that the driver, 58-year-old Vernell Wilkerson of Columbia, had his license revoked prior to Tuesday evening.
After being contacted, Wilkerson got out of the car and, according to the deputy, threw a brown paper sack to the ground. The deputy got permission to search the vehicle and found 208 grams of marijuana. The deputy says the brown paper sack contained 20 grams of marijuana.
Wilkerson was arrested for Possesbuy Adobe Photoshop CS4sion with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Driving While Revoked and Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle. His bond hasn't been set. Deputies tell us Wilkerson is currently on probation for Distribution, Delivery or Manufacture of a Controlled Substance.
