Fatal Fire Blamed on Cooking

A fire in Moberly that killed two women last week has been ruled accidental.

Investigators with the State Fire Marshal's Office say a deadly fire last week in Moberly was an accident.

They say the fire started as a result of a "cooking incident."


Rebecca Skinner, 56, and 18-year-old Britney Tessman died in the fire Thursday.

The Randolph County Coroner told ABC 17 News both women died of smoke inhalation.

Skinner's 26-year-old son, who was also Tessman's boyfriend, was the only person in the house to escape.
