Teacher on Trial for Sex with Student

Jefferson City teacher goes on trial Wednesday

  Trial begins Wednesday morning for a Jefferson City teacher accused of having sex with a student.

     30-year-old Brent Roark faces statutory rape charges stemming from a 2005 incident. 

     Roark was charged in January and resigned from Jefferson City high school two weeks later.

     A jury selected Tuesday from Phelps County will decide Roark's guilt or innocence.

   Attorneys only expect the trial to last a day.
