Former Teacher Indicted on Sex ChargesA former Jefferson City teacher will stand trial for allegedly having sex with a studentPosted on Thu Sep 27, 2007A former Jefferson City High School math teacher and softball coach has been indicted by a grand jury in a child sex case. 30-year-old Brent Roark was indicted Tuesday on two counts of 2nd degree statutory rape and one count of 2nd degree statutory sodomy. Roark was supposed to stand trial last month in the case, but those charges were dropped and re-filed with more specific information. Court documents say Roark had sex with a 16-year-old student in May and June of 2005 at his Jefferson City home. Roark will be arraigned next month in Cole County. If convicted, Roark could face as much as 21 years in prison.
