The Big 12 Conference named the 2008 Academic All-Big 12 Track & Field Teams on Tuesday. Missouri had 26 names on the list including seniors Tyler Dailey (Joplin, Mo.) and Kasey Kimball (Eureka, Mo.) who were specially recognized for recording a 4.0 GPA in the fall 2007 semester. Mizzou sophomore Kyle Gibson has been named the Big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. Gibson recorded a win and a save in the Tigers' three-game series at Kansas last weekend to earn his first career weekly conference honor. |

It was a light weekend for the Missouri track and field squads in preparation for this upcoming weekend's Big 12 Championships in Boulder. Saturday at the Emporia State Twilight, senior Tyler Dailey (Joplin, Mo.) improved his NCAA-regional qualifying mark in the hammer throw with a season's best and winning toss of 201 feet, 11 inches (61.54m). In addition, Tiger post-collegian Christian Cantwell (Eldon, Mo.) won his sixth-straight event title with a World-leading toss in California. |

The Mizzou men's golf team is in 10th place at The Maxwell, played in Ardmore, Okla. The Tigers carded a round of 288 on Sunday after rounds of 280 and 287 on Saturday. |

Sophomore Kyle Gibson recorded his second seven-inning complete game on the year as No. 14 Missouri picked up a 12-1 win over Kansas in game two of a doubleheader on Sunday. The game ended after seven innings due to the conference run-rule in effect for the final game of the three-game weekend series. |

Junior Aaron Crow improved to 11-0 on the year as No. 14 Mizzou took the series opener against Kansas, 5-3, in Lawrence, Kan. on Friday. Crow struck out 11 in seven innings pitched, allowing just two unearned runs on six hits. Crow has tied the school record for wins in a season by picking up his 11th victory of the year. He has recorded the win in all but one of his starts this season. |
